Barragree Cattle Company is a seedstock Angus operation in the Beartooth Mountain Region of Montana. Brian began buying the cows that would become the foundation for his operation during his time at the iconic Beartooth Ranch. He has sourced few females elsewhere and put a focus on functional, productive, and maternal cattle.

BCC is built on the backs of Angus females that blend phenotypic quality with honest production. Their cattle work in a wide array of environments, but are raised in a typically dry and rocky setting and are asked to thrive there. The approximate 10 sections of rough country the cows call home is less than forgiving both in summer and winter months and the cows must have exceptional foot quality, ease of flesh, superior fertility, and great udders to make it there.

The goal of BCC is to meet or exceed the needs of their commercial bull buyers as well as fellow seedstock producers in need of females that work. Annually, the third Friday in March, BCC markets their bulls in the Montana Performance Bull Co-op, a sale Brian began in 2008. Although the sale has grown, Barragree’s have stayed true to what their loyal customer base needs. Currently, their females, both heifer calves and cows, are sold private treaty as well as an Annual Fall Online Heifer Sale, the NILE Angus Female Sale, and the Ladies of the Beartooths Female Sale. The handful of show heifers they sell every year are a true highlight for Zane. He spends time mentoring and building relationships with customers nationwide. BCC cattle have seen success at every level in the recent past.

Barragree cattle company is truly a family owned and operated business. Brian runs the operation with his son, Zane, daughter-in-law, Sam, grandsons, Brooks and Baylor, and daughter Olivia. The three generations put a lot of heart into Barragree Cattle Company and care deeply about the impact it has on the industry around them.
